Billy Zane Cozens - Stan Jones as Billy Cozens
William
Zane Cozens,
or Bill as he was called, came into Black Hawk, Colorado, with the Gold
Rush. Before long, he had become a well-respected Colorado Lawman who
had experienced a great deal of the wild and wooly west in the mining
camps of Gilpin County. Then, in the 1870s, he took his family away from
the rough and tumble mining camps and into the Fraser Valley. His stage
stop and post office operated into the very early years of the 20th
century.
Stan Jones made his name in football as a Hall-of-Fame lineman
for the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins. He graduated from
the University of Maryland where he played for the national champion
Terrapins in 1953. He later coached for the Denver Broncos.
As a long-time resident and fan of Grand County history, Stan has a
special flare for his portrayal of the rambunctious Billy Zane Cozens.
