Jacob N. (Jake) Pettingell

Jake Pettingell studied law in Boston and came west in 1880 on the advice of his physician.  He stayed for the rest of his life serving as postmaster, notary public, insurance agent, county clerk, and justice of the peace.  Jake was said to have an active sense of humor, and he was instrumental in working through the red tape to bring David Moffat's railroad into Grand County.  The highest mountain in Grand County is named Pettingell Peak.

Bill Donaldson, a long time Colorado resident, came to Grand County in 2003.  He is a musician and self-professed computer nerd.
