Mary York Cozens - Lee Gaal as Mary Cozens

An Irish immigrant who had come to Colorado – still Kansas territory then – with the Gold Rush in 1859, Mary York Cozens operated Cozens Stage Stop and Post Office with her husband William Zane Cozens and her children Mary, Sarah and Willie. The Cozens Stage Stop sat at the head of Middle Park along the Georgetown, Empire and Middle Park Wagon Road. From the mid 1870s until the turn of the 20th century, Mrs. Cozens welcomed stagecoach passengers into her spacious dining hall.
