Fran Cassidy as Sol Jones
Solomon Jones came to Grand County from Empire to work as a
blacksmith. He held many jobs over the years including county
commissioner, stagecoach driver, and mail carrier. He was best
known, though, for his twenty years service as county sheriff.
Solomon and his wife, Mary, made their home in Hot Sulphur Springs.
Fran Cassidy, as Solomon Jones, totes a shotgun handed down from
his grandfather, Henry Vollenweider. Fran's roots are in Dubuque,
Iowa, where his grandfather was a blacksmith who hunted the west during
the late nineteenth century. Fran graduated from the University of
New Mexico and retired to the Fraser Valley in 1993 from Houston, Texas.
