Ute Bill Thompson - Joe
Kelley as Ute Bill
Ute Bill Thompson was one of the earliest white settlers in Grand
County. He was a famous hunter, trapper and rancher, and he was
known for his honesty and fair play. His wavy hair hung
well beyond his shoulders. He earned the name "Ute Bill" through
his dealings with the Ute Indians, and was considered a trusted friend
by the local tribes.
Joe Kelley is the professional historian of the American West for
GCC. In addition to Ute Bill, Joe occasionally plays the roles of
Edward Berthoud, Charles Free, Charlie Royer, Frank Root, and William
Ashley.
